Amos Challenges Injustice

Justice is an attribute of God. We have been created in the likeness of God and are expected to be just and fair in all our dealings with others. Amos chided the people of Israel for their failure to show justice to the poor by oppressing them and devising schemes to rip them off. Amos reminds the people that God holds them accountable. God refused to accept the oppressors' worship, and promised to send judgment on both people and land. God would take away their wealth and send them into captivity.

Potential in Jesus Christ

People will understand their potential in Jesus Christ to set spiritual, emotional, and physical goals that result in achieving success in their relationship with God and others.

Jesus, the Son of David, will someday come and draw many nations and people to himself. Using the image of the great feast to which we are invited. Isaiah says that God is the one who generously provides all good things for us.
